“ First time dining here with my boyfriend as it was the closest Filipino restaurant for us without going into central London. Location-wise it was easy to find and there’s a multi-storey parking nearby to park your car. When it came to food, we had lechon kawali, bulaklak, and crispy pata. Overall, the food is great, home cooked feel and the restaurant atmosphere was relaxed. It felt like I was eating at an authentic Filipino carinderia. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our food here and will definitely be back again. It’s such a shame we didn’t get to try the desserts but we were so full from our mains! I’d definitely recommend this Filipino restaurant as it so simple but the food is amazing. ”
“ super authentic and delicious filipino food that won't break the bank! i've been looking for some good pinoy restaurants ever since i moved to london, and this place really takes the cake. ang sarap! will defo recommend! ”
“ I’ve visited this place a handful of times and each time I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the food. Each visit I aim to try a different dish, to get a real insight into what Filipino cuisine is like having not come across it before I moved into the borough. Today was no exception, I opted to try one of the daily specials: Pork Humba. It was a delicious dish of fatty pork belly, with black beans, banana blossom in a sweet and savoury soy sauce, served with steamed rice. Delicious. My previous visits have seen my try the Chicken adobo, Kare Kare and up until today my favourite the Caldereta. The condiment table is always worth a visit with pots of homemade chilli oil and a vinegary onion sauce that helps to cut through the rich dishes. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is an unassuming cafe usually frequented by a mix of locals as well as international visitors looking for a tasty affordable lunch with decent sized portions. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Romford and looking for something tasty, comforting and different to the usual fry up cafes and fast food restaurants scattered around the Romford Market area. ”
“ Fantastic food, never tasted Filipino food before, it was both interesting and tasty. Definitely will be back to try some fish and other items from the menu. ”
“ Authentic Filipino cuisine disguised as a Jacket potato Cafe! Our first time there, we had to get menus from the counter, Order and wait for our food to be delivered. I ordered the chicken adobo, very tasty sauce served with rice. My friend ordered the chicken noodle soup with sui mai (were more like won tons) and a cha sui bun on the side. The chicken noodle soup healed our souls, very heartwarming and filling even though the portions looks small. I ordered the Halo Halo dessert which doubled up as a drink and it was so good. Fun to eat, tasty and had surprises of sweetcorn and pumpkin! Staff were friendly, took care making and delivering our food. Very good prices and the taste is phenomenal homecooked meals. You have gained a loyal customer, it is very busy so expect to wait, but your patience is well rewarded. ”
“ I have been here a fair few times and the food is always excellent, plenty of healthier options on the menu too which isn't a given in this area. Service is friendly and efficient. Pictured: Sizzling Salmon ”
“ If you haven't eaten at Sunrise Cafe in Romford Shopping Hall yet then you're missing out! I help run a social club in Romford and this lovely little cafe is several of our club members favourite eatery. A family run business serving traditional Filipino cuisine that is so tasty that no words do it justice, but we're confident that you won't be disappointed if you go try for yourselves. Check out some pics of some meals that our members have recently enjoyed. We strongly recommend the mixed breakfast (pictured first). ”
“ Having never been here before I was very pleasantly surprised! Excellent value for money and authentic Filipino food. They’ve taken considerable effort to make the atmosphere homey and the flavour and the portion sizes were amazing. ”
